Portable Buildings in Anna and Jonesboro, IL

Union County is not suburbia and the buildings people need here reflect that. Between the orchards, the small farms, the hunting ground and the houses on a couple of acres, the requests we get around Anna and Jonesboro lean practical: somewhere dry for equipment, somewhere lockable for tools, somewhere to put up produce or gear without giving up the garage.

The three buildings that cover most of it

A utility building handles tools, chemicals and the overflow that would otherwise live under a tarp. A lofted barn handles the same job with a second level, which is the better value on almost every property because you gain volume without adding footprint. A garage or lofted garage handles equipment, a side-by-side, a tractor or an actual workshop. Most of our Union County customers end up with one of those three, and a good number eventually own two. Compare all of them on our building styles page.

Hills, gravel and getting a truck to the spot

The single most common issue we run into here is not the building, it is the lane. Rural driveways get soft after rain, field roads have limbs hanging over them, and the flat spot you picked is sometimes across a slope. Before you order, walk the delivery route and be honest about it. We need roughly two feet more than the width of the building, about thirteen feet of overhead clearance, and more room to swing the longer the building is. Cut the limbs early. If the route crosses a neighbor, get written permission in advance. Our preparing for delivery page has the whole checklist.

Build the pad properly

A level, compacted gravel pad built a foot or two larger than the footprint is what we recommend for nearly every site around here. It drains, it keeps mud out of the doorway, and it keeps the frame square so the doors keep working. Concrete is the premium choice and worth it for a shop or anything you roll heavy equipment into.

Make it last outdoors

Pick your siding for the exposure. Choose the shingle color for the sun it will take. Add windows if you will spend time inside and skip them if it is pure storage and you want fewer things to seal. Add a wider door than feels necessary, because equipment gets bigger and doors do not. Everything is on the custom options page and you can build the exact combination in the 3D building designer.

Buying and delivery

Stock models typically deliver in one to twelve business days and custom orders in about three to six weeks. Rent-to-own requires no credit check and does not affect your credit score, and traditional financing with soft-pull pre-approval is available. See our rent-to-own and financing options page.
