Plan on insulating walls, roof and floor, then a mini-split or a through-wall unit for heating and cooling. Electrical should be run by your own licensed electrician after delivery, but decide before we build where you want outlets and where the panel or subfeed will land, so the framing and any pass-throughs suit the plan. If you are running a business out of it, check with the City of Sikeston or Scott County about occupancy and permit requirements first.
Make it look intentional
The difference between a shed with a desk in it and a backyard office is finish. Match the shingles to your house, pick a siding color you would actually paint a house, and add shutters, flower boxes or wainscot if the building will be visible. Interior wise, a light wall color and one good window makes a small footprint feel twice as large.
